Lombardy Region awards LU-VE as one of the companies excelling in commitment to fighting and managing the pandemic

The Italian multinational based in Uboldo received the recognition, set up by the Region in collaboration with Il Sole 24 Ore, as the only representative in the Province of Varese to distinguish itself with innovative strategies to face the crisis in support of its employees, customers, suppliers and reference territory

Uboldo, 11 June 2021LU-VE Group, the multinational from Varese listed on the MTA and among the first operators in the world in the heat exchangers sector, was given the “Enterprise beyond the enterprise” award by the Lombardy Region (the only one for the Province of Varese) for its long and significant commitment to growth and development made in the area, even during such a difficult period as that marked by the pandemic.

The award, in collaboration with Il Sole 24 Ore, was presented yesterday at Palazzo Lombardia by the President of the Region, Attilio Fontana, and by the Councillor for Economic Development, Guido Guidesi.

The award – established by the Lombardy Region’s Department of Economic Development to enhance the commitment of Lombard companies in the fight against and management of the pandemic – was awarded to 20 models of excellence of Lombard companies which, with the crisis of the COVID-19 epidemic, have distinguished themselves with innovative strategies to face the crisis in support of their employees, customers, suppliers and the reference area, to activate a virtuous mechanism for the promotion of reproducible good practices.

Fabio Liberali, a member of the Group’s Board of Directors and Chief Communications Officer, received the award.

“The award received today represents for us an important recognition of the commitment we have put into tackling this period of pandemic, teaming up with and staying close to our collaborators and to the whole territory,” commented Fabio Liberali, from LU-VE. “On behalf of the whole company I would like to thank the women and men of LU-VE Group and the entire structure for having demonstrated their usual strength and sense of duty. This attitude has allowed us to grow also in 2020”.

LU-VE stood out in 2020 for the resilience it demonstrated during the pandemic and the restrictions imposed to limit COVID-19 contagion, managing to achieve the goals set following the lockdown. The spread of the pandemic has not in fact slowed down productivity in the Lombard production sites, as shown by the 2020 numbers: product turnover increased to € 401.5 million, + 2.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.

We have rewarded – explained the President of the Region, Attilio Fontana20 models of excellence of companies that, in various Lombard territories, have distinguished themselves with innovative strategies in support of their employees, customers and suppliers to activate a virtuous mechanism for the promotion of reproducible good practices. Activities – concluded Fontana – that companies have implemented mainly throughout the period of the COVID pandemic”.

Guido Guidesi, Councillor for Economic Development commented:It was a duty and it still is today to thank the doctors, health workers and volunteers, but the time has also come to thank our companies and entrepreneurs. Today’s initiative aims above all to thank those who create jobs. To the many Lombard companies including these twenty award-winning companies that have done so much for our territory, the communities, their employees and for their own business”. “They have also helped our Region on a social level. Together with them we want to move from the emergency phase to the strategic phase, highlighting the positive examples that will be recognized with these awards. This is the union between public and private sectors that remains the winning ‘recipe’ of the Lombardy Region, and it will still be so also in the future “.

The selection and the outcome of the qualitative evaluation were handled by the Scientific Committee composed of external evaluators, with characteristics of independence and competence, coordinated by il Sole 24 Ore. The following took part in: Mattia Losi, strategic development of Gruppo 24 Ore as Coordinator; Daniele Bellasio, former Communication Director of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, now Director of ‘La Prealpina’; Maurizio Dallocchio, Professor of Finance at Bocconi University; Rossella Sobrero, President of the Italian Public Relations Federation; Cristiana Rogate, President of Refe – Sustainable Development Strategies; Tiziana dell’Orto, General Secretary of EY Foundation onlus and Maria Grazia Andali, Chief Marketing Officer of Credimi.
